Microneedling treatment on face

About Microneedling

Skin needling, or collagen induction therapy (CIT), is an exciting natural treatment to improve your skin texture, smooth wrinkles, fine lines, and soften scars. It is suitable for all skin types and all areas of the face, neck, décolletage and hands.

Hyaluronic acid is used during the treatment to help hydrate the skin and minimize fine lines. The treatment promotes the natural reproduction of collagen and elastin, making the skin feel smoother and tighter. Creating only microscopic punctures in the epidermis, needling is minimally invasive with little damage to the skin, which means the collagen production is significantly quicker than other more aggressive treatments.

Collagen Induction Therapy is the perfect solution for treating:

  • Fine lines, dull skin, enlarged pores
  • Acne scars, chicken pox scars and surgical scars (more than 6 months old)
  • Naso-labial lines and smokers lines
  • Rejuvenation of hands, neck and décolletage

To get the most from this treatment we also offer mesotherapy for your face, near you.

What to Expect

Microneedling vampire facials near you are performed with a surgical grade instrument with stainless steel micro needles ranging from 0.5mm to 1.5mm in length. Scarring is treated with needles up to 2mm.

The skin is cleansed and a quick microdermabrasion is done depending on skin condition, with a numbing cream applied for roughly 20-30 minutes. This minimizes the discomfort, though most of our clients grade the level of discomfort as 2 or 3 out of 10, at most. Areas such as lips, forehead, and the eyes are popular areas to focus on numbing beforehand to reduce discomfort.

The skin is thoroughly treated in such a way that each area is needled about 15 to 20 times. An even flushing is the best indication for a perfect medical grade treatment. The treatment takes approximately 45 minutes.

Aftercare & Maintenance

Aftercare and maintenance are important following any microneedling treatment, especially on the face. Your skin will appear flushed (pink to red) which may last for 12 to 24 hours on average. It is essential to keep the area clean and dry, as well as to apply sunscreen when outdoors.

For the first few days, the skin may feel warm and look red, much like a sunburn. This is normal and will subside within a few days. Slight bruising is also common and will resolve on its own. If ice is applied immediately after the treatment, it can help to reduce swelling.

It is important to avoid picking or scratching at the skin, as this can cause scabbing or scarring. In general, it is advisable to avoid wearing makeup for 24 hours after microneedling. Following these simple guidelines will help to ensure optimal results from the treatment.
