The Benefits of PRP

Hair loss can cause significant psychological distress and may lead to low self esteem and confidence. It has become a concern not only for men but also many women. Male pattern hair loss is mostly associated with genetics and hormones, but many other factors such as stress can have an additional impact on hair loss.

We can change all that in as little as a few easy sessions, offering PRP treatments near you at our Markham med spa. Effective, non-invasive and requiring little to no downtime, there are a number of benefits to this innovative process including:

  • New hair growth
  • Slow down excessive loss of hair
  • Thicken the thinned out hair follicles
  • Hydrate the scalp
  • May reduce dandruff
  • Natural and no side effects

How PRP Works

PRP therapy is a cutting-edge treatment that uses the patient's own blood to promote healing. The procedure is simple and safe, and it has been shown to be effective in treating a variety of conditions.

PRP treatment involves drawing the patient's own blood and using a centrifuge to collect the platelet-rich plasma. This plasma is enriched with growth factors that can stimulate tissue regeneration. The PRP solution is injected into the scalp to achieve this effect.

When it comes to your first appointment, there are a few things you should know. Three to four treatment sessions are recommended, each two weeks apart. Hair growth stimulating supplements are recommended during this period to enhance the therapy. Dermaroller treatment and hair health supplements are recommended during the treatment period.

Common Questions About PRP

At Toronto Medical Aesthetics, we are proud to offer platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy to our patients.

If you are considering PRP therapy, you may have some questions about the procedure. To help you make an informed decision, we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions about PRP therapy. We hope that this information will help you to understand the potential benefits and risks of this treatment.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

  • Who is this treatment for?

This treatment is suitable for men and women with thinning hair, excess hair loss, receding hairlines, and male pattern baldness.

The treatment is not suitable for people who have lost all their hair, as it does not help to grow new hair on a bald spot. It can only make the existing hair thicker by strengthening the hair follicles. PRP treatment can effectively be combined with other non-surgical methods of hair restoration such as treatment with minoxidil.

We even offer effective PRP treatments for your face near you!

  • What is the recovery process like?

There is typically no downtime associated with PRP therapy, and patients can return to their normal activities immediately after the procedure.

  • How soon can I see results?

While results may not be immediately visible, most patients will begin to see new hair growth within four to six weeks after treatment.

  • Are there any risks or side effects?

The most common side effects are pain, headache, and heaviness of the head.

Moreover, because PRP uses the patient's own blood, there is no risk of allergic reaction or infection. It is important to discuss all potential risks and side effects with your doctor before undergoing PRP therapy.
